Put the Pieces Together

Standard

Life is like a puzzle. When all the pieces come together and everything makes sense, you will finally learn personal truth.  There are only a few key pieces to the puzzle, but they are quite significant and life-changing. The most important piece to the puzzle is a positive mental attitude. This is what you believe about yourself, others, and life. Your life will be so much better when you keep your thoughts on the positive side. Although your beliefs, thoughts, and emotions impact your health and physical being tremendously, the other critical pieces are: a healthy diet, exercise, and sleep. What goes into the body should be nourishing and nutritious to keep the body functioning. You must move your body around to keep the positive energy flowing and of course rest to reenergize. The last piece to the puzzle is mindful meditation. Meditation helps you to quiet your mind, deal with your thoughts, and to become more “aware” of your inner most being. Meditation connects your inner power with the Creator/universe/God. This is when you listen to receive guidance, clarity, and direction for life.

Here’s the Prescription

Standard

Before I started meditating, my life was chaotic. I was a very anxious and uptight person. My mind and thoughts would go a mile a minute. I would worry about things that were out of my control; I got upset so easily over silly stuff, I would forget where I put things, etc. Life was always a struggle. When I started meditating, my life slowly began to change. Amazing things started happening. My life is more balanced, my emotions are under control, and my days go smoother. Life seems easier now, and it is getting better and better every day in every way. There are no meds, drugs, alcohol, or anything to ingest. Meditation is just pure and natural being. Here is what meditation has done for me:

  • The noise or mind chatter in my head has reduced significantly.
  • I have a more positive attitude.
  • I am a calmer and more relaxed person.
  • I feel healthier and more energetic.
  • I sleep better.
  • I am happier.
  • I am confident.
  • I can surrender to what is happening in each moment.
  • I am a more conscious being.
  • I have more peace and clarity in my life.

Meditation is empowering, enlightening, and transformative. I challenge you to try it for just one week straight for at least 15-20 minutes each day.  It takes a little discipline, but I know you can do it!

What’s Meant To Be

What’s Meant To Be

Destiny is a predetermined course of events usually powered by an irresistible life force. We can intentionally control what happens in the future (to a certain extent). Sometimes, things turn out better than what we could ever imagine. As long as we stay conscious and alert in the present moment; be positive with our mind, thoughts, and actions (even during the bumps along the road); and go with the natural flow; we will fulfill our destiny.

Do you expect to do many great things? Are you destined to be with a certain person and perhaps meant to live somewhere else?  When you have the desire and can feel it and believe it, you can make it happen!

Happily Ever After

Standard

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if there was a ‘happily ever after’ ending to all stories? If you are in a relationship or looking for a partner, I have to tell you, a ‘happily ever after’ ending is achievable. Typically, this type of ending involves a relationship, but even if you are satisfied being single, my message applies to you too.  First, let me ask you this, do you want a happy ending to your story? If you answered yes, you can truly make it happen. You may have to do a little bit of work, but it will be worth every second of it.

If you are already in a relationship, take your partner completely out of the equation, so there is no blaming, criticizing, accusing, etc. Do you have a clear perception of yourself? There are probably qualities that you like (strengths), but there are indeed some that need improvement (weaknesses), and perhaps you’re not even aware of them. Start by assessing your entire self: your character, thoughts, behavior, emotions, fears, habits, doubts, health, appearance, etc. It’s all part of the package. You have to become who you want to attract in your life. For example, be a good listener if you want people to pay attention to your opinions and beliefs; be more forgiving if you want others to forgive you; show consideration and appreciation toward others if you are looking for respect, etc. Not only will you be helping yourself, but you will also bring out the best in your partner. It’s a win/win situation. Maintaining balance, self-awareness, and being present are critical in the process for manifesting a ‘happily ever after’ ending.

I have been evaluating myself for years, and to this day, I still ask myself how can I improve? I am going to have a fairytale ending to my story with my prince charming!

The Devil Made Me Do It

Standard

The urge to satisfy a short-term need for pleasure can lead to long-term, negative effects on life.  Do not be deceived by your thoughts and temptations of the ego.  When you are being put to the test, and it is against your better judgment, you have the power within you to resist temptation.  Always practice self-control and make the right choices.

For Sure

Standard

What do you know for certain?  What can you say, feel, and know in your heart that you are absolutely sure about?  Speaking from my past experiences, the list below is what I know for sure and truly believe:

  • There are many people who are discouraged with life.
  • Your thoughts can create evil.
  • It is hard work and a struggle when you swim against the flow of water (life).
  • Negativity causes health issues.
  • Life is really good and not what you may think it is.
  • You attract who or what you think about.
  • You reap what you sow.
  • You need consciousness to stay in the present moment.
  • Meditation heals your mind, body, and soul.
  • We were put on this earth to help each other.
  • When your intentions are aligned with the source of all creation, you can create the life you desire.
  • Where there is love there is peace.
  • A higher divine power exists and that I am loved.

EGO

Standard

Does the ego help or hinder us? Some people believe the ego gives us that drive to do more and get more. Others believe it has no purpose and can be overpowering and destructive. When any particular part of us becomes off-balance, we could have problems. It is good to achieve our goals and get what we want in life but not to the point of doing harm to others and even ourselves. An inflated ego is unstable and fearful and likes to be in control at all times and the center of attention. It lives by comparisons and clashes with other big egos. The ego is easily recognizable in others, but it can also be subtle. When we give to a good cause, is it for praise and recognition or are we giving from our hearts? Is your ego controlling your life? When you let your heart and intuition guide you, you will be happy and still succeed in life.

Breaking Point

Standard

A horrific crime recently occurred in the state of WV where four people were shot dead and the shooter ended up taking his own life.  My question is how does someone reach a breaking point in life and do something this severe?  Our minds can be very powerful and conjure up a great story, if we let them.  Our minds can even provide complete justification for the story. Now there may be some truth to the story, but our minds seem to magnify it.  To control our actions, we must be aware of what we are thinking.  Because our thoughts can take us for a ride.  Most importantly, we need to realize that not all of our thoughts are true, even though they are a part of us.  We need to ignore the negative thoughts and focus on the positive ones.  My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all involved in this incident and hope they quickly recover during this difficult time.
