Of course, it is easy to dictate what is right and what is wrong; what to do and what not to do; but we must be mindful of our own thoughts and actions. It is a wonderful experience to help other people, but I also believe we have to be cognizant of applying our teachings in our own daily lives. After so many years of habitual thinking, I still catch myself reverting back to the same negative thought patterns. Since I am aware of this now, I am able to quickly dismiss them or change them into positive thoughts. I am a disciplined person, and I am improving my life every day. I am coming to expect this of you…
Destiny is a predetermined course of events usually powered by an irresistible life force. We can intentionally control what happens in the future (to a certain extent). Sometimes, things turn out better than what we could ever imagine. As long as we stay conscious and alert in the present moment; be positive with our mind, thoughts, and actions (even during the bumps along the road); and go with the natural flow; we will fulfill our destiny.
Do you expect to do many great things? Are you destined to be with a certain person and perhaps meant to live somewhere else? When you have the desire and can feel it and believe it, you can make it happen!
My definition of an honorable person is someone who is righteous, trustworthy, compassionate, and shows respect for others. A person of honor is fair and forgiving, takes responsibility for his/her own actions, keeps promises, and maintains composure during difficult situations. A person who earns an honest living and is willing to help others is being honorable. When these values are practiced, much respect from others will be gained, and there will be a spiritual peaceful feeling within.
A horrific crime recently occurred in the state of WV where four people were shot dead and the shooter ended up taking his own life. My question is how does someone reach a breaking point in life and do something this severe? Our minds can be very powerful and conjure up a great story, if we let them. Our minds can even provide complete justification for the story. Now there may be some truth to the story, but our minds seem to magnify it. To control our actions, we must be aware of what we are thinking. Because our thoughts can take us for a ride. Most importantly, we need to realize that not all of our thoughts are true, even though they are a part of us. We need to ignore the negative thoughts and focus on the positive ones. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all involved in this incident and hope they quickly recover during this difficult time.
