I meditate as often as possible or when I feel I need it which is usually about 20 minutes every day. This daily practice has improved my life tremendously.
If you want to connect to the Source of all creation, meditate.
If you want guidance in your life, meditate.
If you want to quiet your mind and calm your thoughts, meditate.
If you want to be a witness to your thoughts, meditate.
If you want to de-stress and relax your mind and body, meditate.
If you want to improve emotionally, mentally, spiritually, physically, and socially, meditate.
I came across a video that I would like to share with you called, “What is Meditation and Why Should I Do It?” from Oprah’s SuperSoul Sunday:
If we want to transform our lives, we must take a journey into the heart of ourselves, to the very core center of our being. This is where we will discover who we really are and that we are all bound together by the same Source. This is where the light, love, peace, power, and the truth exist in everyone. When we become “aware” of our true identity, our lives will have meaning and we will feel whole and complete. When we connect our higher selves with the Source of all creation and stay connected, we will feel safe and protected, and our lives will change significantly.
Your whole life revolves around what is going on inside of you. What you are thinking, what you are believing, what you are feeling, what you are intending, what or who you are connecting with spiritually, and what you are physically putting into your body. Your inner world is attracting your outer world. The path to power begins with awareness. Only when you become ‘aware’ of what needs to be changed within yourself can you make changes in your life. As always, positive changes bring positive results.
You may “think” you know who you are, but do you really? You may get to a point in life when you want to have a deeper understanding about yourself. Have you ever asked yourself these questions: who am I; what am I doing here; where am I going; who and what should I believe? The truth is you already have the answers. You have to dig deep, go within, and be honest with yourself. It might take a while to figure out who you really are, but you will if you express desire. I strongly encourage you to meditate. This is when you listen to the divine source and connect with your inner being to get all the answers.
The essence of who you are is your spirit, soul, inner being, or life-force. Spirituality is when you experience a direct connection of your inner most being with the divine power of the universe.
Organized religion is when you follow someone else’s collection of beliefs, customs, and/or rituals.
You can practice spirituality without belonging to a specific religion; you can also be religious but not spiritual; and lastly, you can certainly practice spirituality while belonging to an organized religion. I recommend doing whatever keeps you aligned with the divine power and on the right path in life.
When all else fails, and you truly want to help yourself, reconnect with God (or whatever you call the entity or source from which you were created). Ask for help. You will receive the power, strength, and love from the source to overcome the obstacles you are currently facing in life. Don’t be stubborn, because it is impossible to do it alone. When you reconnect with the source and have the fundamental belief that you really can do this, anything is possible.
Spirituality is when we become aware of the spiritual essence within ourselves and everyone else. Spirituality is the practice of connecting and aligning our inner most being with a divine power greater than ourselves. We are connected in such a way that we allow this greater power to guide us in life. When we consistently practice spirituality, we will develop a deeper connection with our source and the better we will become. The more aligned we are, the less pain and suffering we will experience.
We have all experienced fear. Many people don’t like change because of fear of the unknown. Fear of death is a very deep common fear. When we have lack of faith, we experience fear. Fear is the result of being separated or disconnected from the source of our creation. Once we establish that connection again, we feel more secure and at peace. The solution to overcoming fear is to stay connected! I hope you have a calm, peaceful day.
