Set Boundaries

Standard

Wow… is it just me or does it seem like there is so much negativity these days?  People are ready to attack, lash out, and strike at any given moment.  Little do they know that they are not only hurting themselves, but they are also creating more negative energy within their circle.  These people will then be the first ones to complain about how things are not working right in their lives.  Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and beliefs, but be civil and have some class and respect when voicing them.  Besides, if you listen close enough to what is being said without being so critical and close-minded, you might truly learn something.  My circle of friends is getting smaller.  I refuse to support negative behavior.

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” -Elizabeth Appell.

We all like living in the comfort zone, because we know what to expect and there is no fear. But since we live in a world with constant change, we can’t get too comfortable.  We can resist change or we can accept it.  The more resistance, the more pain.  When we sit motionless and stagnant, we are wasting precious moments.  When we are defending and holding onto something that is causing pain, we need to release it and move on, and we will emerge better than before.  We will get the gentle nudge to keep improving and advancing toward purpose and fulfillment.  When we are brave, take risks, and embrace change, we will live a more adventurous and joyful life.  When we keep our hearts open and renew our minds, everything will flow accordingly.

Renew Your Mind

Standard

Are you mentally abusing yourself? The most important thing you can do in life is recondition your mind.  Our thoughts being so close to us and the impact and constant pressure from the outside world make it very difficult to alter the process. However, it has to be done in order to live a more peaceful lifestyle.  Being aware of your thoughts and entertaining only the positive ones are important parts of the process. When you practice mental discipline and learn to stand back and observe your thoughts, you are making progress in creating a more meaningful life.

What Do You See?

Our eyes, facial expressions, and behavior expose our emotions and innermost feelings. We can usually tell when someone is happy, at peace, in love, energetic, confident, innocent, etc., or quite the opposite, depressed, angry, hateful, tired, scared, guilty, etc. Making direct eye contact is a great communication skill to have. The next time you engage with another person, look straight into their eyes. If you look close enough, you will see through to their very existence.
