The Journey

Standard

All my life I believed I was on a journey to become someone and to fulfill my dreams and goals, until I read this quote:

“Maybe the journey isn’t so much about becoming anything. Maybe it’s about unbecoming everything that isn’t you so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place.” — Unknown

I am changing my belief about the journey.  I am already someone who is whole, fulfilled, accepted, and loved.  Life is not about reaching a destination or the end result.  Life is about enjoying the journey without an end.

Trying

Standard

Words have power. Be careful when you speak or write the word ‘trying.’ The definition  I am referring to is: “make an effort to do something: to attempt to accomplish or complete something” (from Merriam-Webster.com). When you truly want to accomplish something, you have to eliminate the word ‘trying’ because the universe delivers exactly what you state. You will continue to try or attempt to instead of actually achieve the goal. Be aware of the words you use. You will get quicker and better results when you are more specific and direct with the universe. And of course, always use the powerful words ‘I am.’ See the following examples:

  • I am trying to follow biblical principles.  ►  I am following biblical principles.
  • I am trying to practice humility in my daily life.  ►  I am practicing humility in my daily life.

Here Comes 2015!

Standard
With 2014 coming to an end, we should consider making plans/goals for the new year.  Some of us are wanting or needing to make major lifestyle changes, while others are perfectly content staying in their comfort zones.  Where ever we are in life, we should always seek ways to improve ourselves and the way we live.  We could lend a helping hand, complain less, be forgiving, eat healthier, exercise regularly, get organized, give more, save more, and spend less, be open-minded and less judgmental, be grateful, and always be kind and loving.  When we practice self-awareness, we can be more and do more to become better.  Best wishes for a very happy, healthy, and harmonious 2015!

Presence is a Present

Standard

The most important time in your life is the present moment.  It’s what you are doing right here right now in this moment and every moment in life.  The past is gone.  You made memories and some were good but some were not-so-good.  Cherish the good and erase the not-so-good.  Don’t dwell on the past and what you should have done.  There is nothing you can do about the past.  I’ve heard so many people say I wish I knew back then what I know now.  Okay now is here and your chance to shine.  This is your moment.  Three is no need to worry about what lies ahead of you and what ‘might’ happen. You will only be wasting valuable time.  Yes, you can make plans and establish goals for the future, but you do that in the present moment.  Focus on the here and the now.  It’s where you need to be all the time.
