There is a difference between loyalty and trust. You can be loyal without being trustworthy.
Loyalty
Loyalty can be termed as devotion of a person to a cause, an organization, country, or another person. A person can be loyal to someone or something, whether itβs right or wrong. Loyalty implies sticking with someone or something, even if it goes against your own self-interest. Loyalty is considered as an obligation or duty.
Trust
A trustworthy person is someone who you can rely on as being honest or truthful. You can confide in that person to do the right thing, even when no one is watching. Trustworthiness is a step higher than loyalty, because it is being loyal and righteous at the same time.
Being loyal is easier than being trustworthy.
Hey! Great post!
Indeed, loyalty is easier than being trustworthy I believe π
Trust is an interesting concept, and I believe one of the greatest ways to build trust with someone is to deploy empathy and make someone feel like they belong.
Once we make the effort to give people a feeling that their presents in needed or purposeful to a certain cause, and make them feel safe in their environment, we instinctivly begin to build trust.
One of the greatest human needs, is the need for contribution and certainty. If we make the active effort to make people feel safe about their doing and let them know that whatever they are doing is contirbuitng to a greater cause, trust forms.
It’s a fascinating concept! Both trust and loyalty! π

Thank you so much for your comments. Yes, indeed, we should all feel safe with the people we trust. It takes time to build trust, and it can be easily broken and hard to restore. When we make a conscious effort to do the right thing, we are living a purposeful life. Cheers! π
